Welcome to 2012!
We hope everyone had a great break and are back on-board for an exciting year ahead. However don’t panic, the start of the year has several public holidays so that we are eased back into the working cycle.
Our best wishes for you and your business in 2012.

The heat is on ?
The year ahead is very exciting for us at BCA as we polish and go to market with some of the new products we have been working hard on in 2011. An example is our new “Environmental Monitoring Device”.
Heat is your Server and IT equipment’s worst enemy. It causes many issues and can severely reduce the lifespan of the equipment or even void the manufacturers warranty. The problem is, we have to leave servers running 24×7, and then we seal the office and turn off the a/c at 5pm on Fridays for the entire weekend. This allows the air space to become super heated.
Luckily now BCA have a solution which can alert you (and us) via email and/or SMS if a room temperature becomes too hot or if a dedicated a/c unit unexpectedly stopped operating. It can also send alerts if staff have left the a/c turned on in the office over the weekend as that’s just wasting money and energy! Send an email to sales@businesscomputing.com.au if you would like more info on BCA’s new EMD devices.

For you Gadget freaks !
During the Christmas holidays Matt spent time in Canada visiting his in-laws and while in North America he popped into Las Vegas for the CES conference , which is one of the world’s largest consumer electronics events showcasing upcoming technology. While there he was able to get a glimpse at the future. Some of the most lasting memories while there were; an LG 3D TV which allows two people watch two different movies at the same time, both at full screen. This sounds impossible but send him an email and he’ll explain this technically brilliant solution which he tried out and thinks will be a big hit.

A box which turns any TV into a 3D TV without the need of glasses. This has retailers worried because this would make 3D TVS, 3D DVDs, 3D players all worthless and difficult to sell. Plus the Windows 8 tablet which when released later this year will hopefully be the first tablet which works as well at creating content as it does at viewing content, as long as it can also achieve good battery life.

The other item which stood out at the show was just how connected we all are while on the move now. With so many vendors in this mobility space it was easy to see how the general user could become easily confused. With so many choices its not hard to choose a mobile device which simply doesn’t work well for business purposes. It highlighted to Matt just how important it is for people to talk with their IT provider BEFORE making any purchases, if they want them to easily integrate with their business systems. Matt believes tablet style computer and mobile phone vendors can see this confusion also, which is why they are all stating they can work in the business environment now , but many of them he tested at the show were still over complicated and messy.

That’s all for this month. We hope you gain something from this months newsletter and our regular stream of blogs we are producing. If you have any feedback, ideas or comments you wish to make please feel free to email us or post us some positive feedback on our social pages like facebook .
